Custom made lampshades - striped lampshade commission

It makes me SO excited to write this blog post! Part of why I love making lampshades is that every lampshade that I make is made to order. One of the best orders that I get from my lovely customers are for custom made lampshades. This blog post is about my biggest bespoke lampshade order yet!

A lovely customer contacted me; she is an interior designer and wanted me to create 12 lampshades for her client. These were cone lampshades or conical lampshades, that have a candle clip light fitting. This was new for me to create conical lampshades and I was really up for the challenge!

The lampshades were replacements; 6 of the shades were going on one light fitting - two light fittings in total. I used the previous lampshades as a template so that I could accurately follow the size of the shade, as well as using the same light fittings for the first 6 lampshades. My customer chose and sent to me the fabric herself. It’s a gorgeous striped fabric - one set in blue and cream striped and the other set a wine coloured and cream striped fabric.
