Bespoke Lampshades - Jungle Leaves with Copper

There’s that wonderful moment when you’re asked to custom make two lampshades…and the fabric is everything you’ve ever dreamed of! I have been searching for a LONG time for fabric with bold jungle leaves on, to create a bold jungle leaves lampshade. Then, I’m asked to make two - dreamy!

My custom made lampshades are where a lovely customer sends me their own fabric, and I transform it into lampshade(s). It’s a great way to use up extra fabric especially if you’ve used the fabric in other areas of the same room such as making cushions. This commission was for two 15cm lampshades. Better still, copper inside lampshades! The lampshades were made for table lamps, so I made them 15cm high by 15cm diameter to showcase a little bit more of this gorgeous fabric (I normally do a 14cm high for a 15cm diameter).

I absolutely adore the jungle leaves fabric that they chose. There is such a mix of leaves and green tones within the fabric - it literally looks as if you are looking into a jungle! The mix of sage green and turquoise leaves looks really effective, and works even on a smaller lampshade. Plus, the green colours tone perfectly with the copper inside, which has such a warm, welcoming glow when it’s lit up.

The fabric is showcased as well by the drum shape, showing as much of the design as possible. I love these copper lampshades - what do you think? Can I sneakily keep them for myself!?
