Craft Review: Lauren Aston Designs Knitted Christmas Trees pattern!

Wow, it is nearly Christmas, people!!!

I’ve been LOVING all of the Christmas crafts. After all, the run up (or down?) to Christmas is the best bit, right!?

If you’ve read my previous blog post, you will know that favourite knitter to follow on Instagram is Lauren Aston designs. Her LAD knitting patterns have been so much fun to give a go, and are perfect for Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced depending on what you go for. I’ve chosen to download her patterns rather than order the knitting kits, but both are equally fabulous I am sure.

Today’s post is another Christmassy knitting spectacular: Lauren Aston Designs Knitted Christmas Trees pattern! I don’t know about you but I really love to have standalone Christmas decs to decorate the house as well as a smashing Christmas tree. Luckily for me, Lauren had the same idea and launched her Knitted Christmas Trees pattern this year.

Within the pattern there are 5 different trees to knit; some are thinner, wibbly numbers, others are small and petite and then there is one large tree to really stand out from the rest. What it means is that you get to practise lots of different knitting stitches as no two tree patterns are the same.

The pattern is an Intermediate to Advanced as you have to use 4 double ended knitting needles! I know - crazy! I believe you also need these to knit a sock, but don’t take my word for it. It was definitely a challenge to get used to, but it was really rewarding when you managed to finish a tree.

I chose to mix up my wool choices too, with a mixture of Pixie blue, white and a mustard tree to make a bit of a modern Christmas scene. The trees look great with some baubles or stars around them to add to the festive nature - making a great centre piece or standalone decoration!

Let me know if you give them a go? My tension definitely needs work(!) so I can’t wait to try them again and improve my skills!
