The world's brightest cushions!

This week, I have been crafting something a bit different….10 cushion covers! It’s a bit out of the usual for me, and came from a request from my lovely sister who makes the most amazing bunting. A customer of hers ordered some bright, colourful bunting to decorate her outdoor garden area. She wanted some matching cushions to go in her BBQ seating area…and I was happy to oblige!

I made 2 cushions in each of the 5 colours, one was 17” and the other 19” - so they are big and bold! The matching bunting can be personalised, too, which is great for birthdays and other celebrations.

Each homemade cushion has an envelope back, making it easy to remove the cushion inners and wash when needed. I prefer this to zips as it gives a bit more flexibility with the inners - if they are a bit fluffier they will still fit! I like a snug cushion fit, so I make the cushion cover the same size as the inner rather than slightly bigger.

It’s the details that take the time; every edge I overlock or stitch so that it won’t fray. I snip every corner so that it is super pointy.

They aren’t my personal style, but I think they will brighten up her garden - sunglasses at the ready! I can also make cushion covers using my fabric, so if you fancy a matching cushion cover to go with your lampshade, just get in touch :)
